RIGHT TO WORK · GEORGIA

What to send first—and what can wait

Foreign applicants, Georgian employers and advisers preparing an employee or self-employed right-to-work file.

  • documents to send for the first review
  • employee and employer evidence
  • self-employed activity and interview evidence
  • documents our team prepares
  • translation and later-document rules

What the work rules mean for you

The document list depends on whether a Georgian employer files for an employee or a self-employed foreigner files personally. Start with identity, the real contract and work description; the application, evidence plan and employer-side documents can then be prepared for the correct route.

Do not translate or legalise an entire professional history in advance. Send the core records first; we will identify which documents belong in the selected employee or self-employed file.

STARTING DOCUMENTS

First identify who files and what work is being approved

A useful first review does not require a finished legal file. Send the passport, the proposed working arrangement, the real duties or activity, the employer or Georgian business details and the intended start date. We then confirm whether an exemption, employee filing or self-employed filing is the likely route.

  • Passport and current location/lawful-stay information.
  • Employer, client, Georgian company or IE details.
  • Draft or signed contract and a plain-language description of the work.
  • Education, certificates and relevant experience records already available.
  • Target start date and intended visa or residence outcome.
EMPLOYEE DOCUMENTS

What an employed professional and Georgian employer normally provide

The employee side establishes identity and suitability for the role. The employer side establishes the Georgian employing entity, authorised filer, position, contract and any market-test, annual-coordination or turnover evidence required for that case.

  • Employee passport, contact details and relevant qualification/experience evidence.
  • Employment contract and a detailed job description that use consistent role information.
  • Employer registry and authorised-representative information.
  • Vacancy and candidate evidence, or documents supporting an applicable exception.
  • Employer headcount, annual-request and revenue evidence where the procedure requires it.
SELF-EMPLOYED DOCUMENTS

Show the real profession, activity and Georgian business basis

A self-employed applicant files personally under the current procedure and attends a video interview. The evidence should explain the stated profession or activity and the contracts, registration and financial basis behind it.

  • Passport and applicant details for the electronic filing.
  • Georgian IE or company records where the activity uses that structure.
  • Client or service contracts, activity description, invoices or delivery evidence.
  • Qualification and experience evidence relevant to the profession or activity.
  • Turnover and other financial evidence required by the current route.
WHAT OUR TEAM PREPARES

You should not have to draft the legal filing yourself

After the route is confirmed, ITResidency.ge can prepare the application narrative and evidence structure, check the employer or activity classification, identify translation needs and coordinate the filing and any authority follow-up.

  • Route and exemption analysis.
  • Position, profession or economic-activity classification.
  • Application form, supporting explanation and evidence index.
  • Employer process, qualified electronic signature and submission coordination.
  • Correction or additional-document response where included in the scope.
TRANSLATIONS AND LATER EVIDENCE

Translate only the documents the chosen route actually needs

Foreign-language documents may require a certified Georgian translation, and some foreign public documents may require apostille or legalisation depending on their use. We check this after the evidence plan is clear so clients do not translate irrelevant records.

  • Do not alter names, dates or role descriptions to make documents appear consistent; resolve differences transparently.
  • Authority decisions and unique codes are obtained during the procedure, not prepared by the client in advance.
  • Additional evidence may be requested after review; it is not useful to invent speculative documents at the start.
  • Keep originals available where the procedure or interview requires them.
START WITH WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE

What to send us first

FROM FIRST REVIEW TO COMPLETION

How the work usually proceeds

The exact order depends on the service and your documents. We confirm the steps and responsibilities before professional work begins.

  1. 01

confirm whether permission or a current exemption applies

  2. 02

identify the correct employer-filed or self-filed path

  3. 03

    complete vacancy/market steps when applicable

  4. 04

prepare the profession or activity-specific evidence

  5. 05

file, respond to requests and coordinate the following visa or residence step

PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

How this may look in a real case

An employer uses the same concrete software duties in the vacancy, job description, contract and right-to-work application.

AVOIDABLE PROBLEMS

What can slow the process down

We check these points at the beginning and flag gaps before filing, so you can correct them while there is still time.

  • Employee and self-employed checklists are mixed together.
  • The applicant translates a large file before the route and relevant qualification evidence are confirmed.
  • The employer’s authorised filer, electronic signature or employer-system records are not ready.
  • Names, passport details, dates or role descriptions differ across the application, contract and supporting records.
  • An authority-issued code or decision is incorrectly treated as a document the client should already possess.

QUESTIONS CLIENTS ASK

Frequently asked questions

Is there one document list for every right-to-work application?

No. Employee and self-employed routes use different filings and evidence. The checklist also changes with the employer, profession, activity, vacancy or exception and any turnover or annual-coordination requirement.

What should I send for an initial document review?

Send the passport, current location and Georgian status, proposed contract, plain-language description of the work, employer or Georgian business details, available qualification evidence and intended start date. We will identify what is missing after the route is confirmed.

What documents does a foreign employee provide?

The usual starting records are the passport, Georgian contact/status details, employment contract, job description and relevant education, certificate or experience evidence. The employer supplies the employer-side procedural and company records.

What documents does the Georgian employer provide?

Depending on the route, the employer may need registry and authorised-person details, vacancy/candidate records or exception evidence, contract and position information, headcount/annual-request records and turnover evidence.

What does a self-employed applicant provide?

The file normally starts with the passport, profession and activity description, Georgian registration evidence where relevant, client or service contracts, qualification/experience records and financial or turnover evidence. The applicant also attends a video interview.

Do foreign documents need Georgian translation?

Foreign-language evidence may require certified Georgian translation. Some foreign public documents may also need apostille or legalisation depending on the document and use. We check this after the route and evidence list are clear.

Which documents does ITResidency.ge prepare?

Within the agreed scope, we can prepare the route analysis, position/activity classification, application wording, evidence index, supporting explanation and employer filing coordination. Clients are not expected to draft the legal application themselves.

Can optional or missing information be provided later?

Yes, where it is not essential to identify the route or submit a complete application. We distinguish initial facts, documents required before filing and evidence that may only be needed after an authority request.
